Evening all, this is just my latest update for Richard Lord Online. I am going to be talking about New Year’s resolutions. Yes, I know its 11th January and I might have missed the boat with it but just a quick ABC as to what I think about it.
All or nothing, that’s what we seem to think about with New Year’s resolutions. I am going to be doing all this all of the time, I’m going to be doing lots more of this. I’m going to be cutting this out. There doesn’t seem to be anything in between. We need to have a look to see. Let’s look at it realistically. Let’s look at it in bite-sized pieces.
So if I want to lose weight, I need to cut down on one thing or to reduce something else, not just cut something out. If I want to cut down on chips, I’m not going to like doing that, but by saying I am going to cut them out completely is going to be a lot harder. By saying I am going to have less of them is going to be easier to keep up with so it is important to take it seriously, and to take it in bite-sized pieces.
If you fail and you have a day when you have some, then it doesn’t matter. Move on to the next day. Do something better next time round.
So A) All or nothing, B) Bite-sized pieces, and C) Chips! Keep chipping away it basically and keep doing what you want to do but don’t worry if you slip up, just go at it again next day.
